joystick software package provides set of testing and calibration tools for joysticks, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install joystick
joystick is installed in your system.
Make ensure the joystick package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep joystick *
You will get with joystick package name, version, architecture and description in a table
